2 Stars Not so Cool CoolPix
I am very familiar with cameras and I was disappointed with this Nikon picture quality for a 10.0. Pics look fine in their orginal format but when I used editing software the grains came out.
I talked with another experienced shooter of the Nikon and he had the same problem and returned the camera.
It has nice features, small and easy to use but none of that matters if the end result…the picture is no good.
Research and buy another camera, not the Nikon S220
1 Stars Why did I put up with the S220 for 8 months?
I was so excited to find a Nikon in such a small package (I have owned 4 Nikon Coolpix cameras). But the image quality rates a ZERO. (This review did not allow that rating.) My first 2mp camera had better sharpness. When I called Nikon to complain they said to send it in for reconfiguration! When I called he store they said to drop it and take advantage of my protection plan!
If you own one call Nikon, if you are thinking of buying one, buy a Canon SD780… I did.
2 Stars Worst camera I’ve ever owned
This camera is terrible. Grainy images, abnormally bright colors make many pictures appear as if out of a cartoon coloring book. Picture quality is just low all-around, with some of the poorest sharpness I’ve ever seen even with close-ups. Occasionally, there are fantastic shots; I’ve noticed outdoor, sunny shots look the best. Shots in the shade and indoors are poor. All of this even at auto flash settings.
I bought this camera for my honeymoon and I regret it. I’m returning it tomorrow. Do yourself a favor and forget this camera.

I have had this camera a little over a year and have not been impressed with the picture quality. For the price, however, it was tolerable. Now the lens cover is stuck (the infamous “lens error”). No luck trying to fix it myself and it will cost more for someone to fix it than it is worth. These cameras tend to have this lens problem. Buyer beware.
5 Stars This is a Good Camera
This is a good camera. It takes good pictures and is easy to use. I am stunned to read some of the reviews here — it’s like night and day with my experiences. I am thinking they are reviewing the s230 which is really bad and gets bad reviews everywhere.
