I dont want to repeat all the positive reviews that i read below, but add another satisfied customer to the list. I will never buy a piece-of-crap ipod again.
5 Stars Sony Walkman
This is a great gadget if you dont want to pay for everything on Apple. You can load your own music, record directly from the radio (great for recording Howard on Sirius). Holds a ton of data. Very very easy to use. Awesome Radio, MPS, recorder, movie player.
2 Stars Disappointed…
I’ve owned my Sony Walkman MP3 player for a little over a year and it’s always worked fine but last week while in the gym it just STOPPED. I tried the reset button a bunch of times and nothing. So I do not recommend this product. Also the style of headphones fits very comfortably in your ear but you need to have the device attached to your arm so that the headpones reach your ear, not a big deal i thought… BUTTTTT there is NO arm holster available so i had to purchase one for an IPOD and rig it so that the Sony would fit.
5 Stars Great!
This is the first MP3 player that I have purchased and because of that I did extensive research into reviews of various players. For the price, this is an excellent player with great sound and crisp clear video display. Loading music and videos onto the device is incredibly simple and can be done from a variety of different options (Windows Media Player, ITunes, and, perhaps simplest of all, directly from the files whence the music is stored). Playing music is easy. Playing videos is easy. The screen is very crisp and video resolution (for a screen that is only 2 inches or so) is very good. A surprisingly nice additional feature is the players ability to play music without the aid of headphones. While the speakers are nothing spectacular, they are excellent considering that the device is so small and light. The radio tuner is excellent and even manages to get reception inside our parking garage, which is underground and more importantly underneath a 14 story concrete building.
Downsides: The included headphones are rubbish and are, perhaps, the greatest downside to the entire device. You cannot create playlists on the device, which is mildly annoying. The device does not include a direct A/C charger, which means you have to plug it into a computer to recharge. Not really that big of a deal considering that A/C chargers are available and the battery lasts forever.
Bottomline: If you are looking for a device that just plays music and videos, this is the best one that I found in my research. Sound quality is amazing and for the price it includes several nice additional features (like the radio tuner and external speakers). If you are looking for a device that can govern small countries and attempt to replace a computer (without actually doing so), then you should probably spend twice the money on an Apple I-Touch or a Microsoft Zune HD.
3 Stars More trouble than it’s worth
I bought this for my husband for Christmas…he had commented that he thought he might like to have one. Big mistake. This MP3 player/recorder, etc is not user friendly…even after reading the instructions. I wish I’d read more reviews - aside from Amazon comments. I would have either chosen an alternative or none at all. It is sitting in the drawer.
