5 Stars Great price plus it works
Ok, to start with opening the body of the IPod was harder than I expected, even after reading other reviews. The plastic tools didn’t work for me. I had to use jeweler’s screw drivers to get it open. It worked but I did have to be very careful to not scratch the cases. The installation of the battery was simple, took probably 3 minutes and putting the case back together was a snap. I have been using it for many weeks now and the battery holds the charge and I am getting a much longer charge time with this battery than I did with the original. I took a chance on a very inexpensive purchase which turned out to be a great deal.

I got this battery for my Ipod Photo that I bought years ago. My battery no longer held a charge and I bought this battery as a last ditch effort to save myself from having to buy another Ipod. I’ve had it for a few weeks and it works like a charm, especially considering the price. If you’re having trouble with your Ipod battery give these guys a try, its 2 bucks, take a risk in life. I have no complaints.

After doing microsurgery to remove old battery and put this new one in. This battery is short on power. Dies in under 1 hour. This battery is worse than the replaced battery! I really feel ripped off. I don’t know what battery the good reviewers got?
5 Stars Awesome batterery Install Kit at an unbeatable price I might add.
I had a friend call about his IPOD. Knowing I am a computer geek I took it thinking I can always learn a new trick. Found out one thing do not think your going to get a better price for a part and kit than Amazon.com. I called where he bought it….that was a joke. I also called Apple for the battery…I was shocked at the sticker price. I thought all was hopeless and that I had to buy him a new one. Then I turned to amazon.com and found that I could get not only the battery but the install tools too. So for a sweet man I got a sweet deal and returned it to him. He is a paraplegic with round the clock care. He was so happy to get his music back that he paid little old me four times what I wanted. I felt guilty and tried to give it back but he said no need you deserve all of it for being a life line.
So thank you Amazon.com for handing me such a sweet deal.

4 Stars Excellent Value
I ordered this for my girlfriend’s 40Gb 4th Generation iPod as the original battery was getting a little long in the tooth (4 years). In fact, with the unbelievable price I ordered 2 of them (thinking of fixing other friends iPods for a cost ;-).
My experience was the same as one of the other reviewers - I had never changed the battery before (although I did replace the HDD a couple of days prior). I had no clue as to how to insert the plastic tools, but with a bit of leveraging the back popped off. The tools did turn white at the top due to the force, but as the other poster said, they should be good for another few uses. A real bonus was the inclusion of the Torx screwdriver - I have seen a lot of battery kits without this.
All up the job took around 15 mins to complete - easy peasy. The hardest and most time consuming part was managing to get the white plastic dock charger surround correctly back into position.
Another reviewer mentioned the glue on the original battery and having to reposition the new one correctly in order to avoid stress on the logic board. Case was the same for me.
Even though this battery appears to be a cheap Chinese knock-off, it is incredible value for money at only $3.00. Sure beats paying Apple $100 to do it for you (at least that’s what it costs here in New Zealand).
