5 Stars Perfect alarm clock for the iPhone
In my humble opinion, this is the answer to the iPhone/alarm clock duo.
- Size: Average size of a normal alarm clock
- Light: 3 different settings so you won’t be kept up by a bright light (problem with previous iHome and iPhone clocks)
- Speaker: Actually not bad, you can hear the sub ‘breathing’, and it packs a punch when turned up. Slightly muddled at lower volumes (kind of expected), but overall what you would look for in an alarm clock. When watching a movie/listening to low music before falling asleep, you can hear everything at most volumes.
- Alarm function: Super easy to use, the *Beep* sound doesn’t make you want to murder someone, and if you want to wake up to your own tunes, just press the iPod button (it even fades into the loud volume). Easy!
- Price: I’ve waited for this price to come down, and scored it for $40, not too much, but not a huge deal either. The original asking price was too much IMO.
Overall, a great experience, no error message, and it doesn’t look too tacky when in landscape mode either! Highly, highly recommended at a lower price.

Added this item to son’s accessories to his ipod touch. Has great feature when turned on side to watch movies, the clock moves as well, stylish and very good sound quality.

To me, this is the perfect alarm clock! I can both charge my iPod and wake up to my favorite tunes!
Pros:
-Stylish, small profile design
-3 different clock dim levels
-Energy star compliant 
-Charges your iPod/iPhone
-Great sound for one little speaker
-Alarm starts out soft then works its way to your specified volume (love that!)
-Includes different plastic adapters to fit a variety of iPods or iPhone
-Standard alarm will sound if iPhone/iPod is not connected
-Includes a battery backup feature so if you lose power the alarm still functions
-Can be rotated horizontally or vertically (LCD display rotates automatically)
-Nice large snooze button– perfect for sleepy mornings!
-Sleep timer settings so you can fall asleep to your favorite tunes!
Cons:
(if I have to be picky… here’s some cons)
-Adapter cord could be a little bit longer
-Button tactile feedback is a little hard
-Confirmation alarm beep is a little loud
-Initial set-up (clock/alarm time) is not too intuitive
4 Stars outstanding - but could use one small improvement
overall this is the only model I found that supports “rotation” of the iphone, and given that streaming movies and tv will be presented in the wide-screen mode this will suddenly become very important as the iphone/ipod genre evolves. Only suggestion I can make is some sort of cradle or cushion on the side as the unit is rotated, since the iphone is particular is only held horizontal by the mount cradle, and has a tendency to become disconnected from the mount if it is bumped in this horizontal mode… but the content, whether streaming radio, streaming tv, or just your ipod content, plays very well. Just a suggestion, company may want to consider developing a smaller, lighter model for traveling, as I think this would be an essential traveling bedside companion to anyone with an iphone…
